自宅録音におけるベースの音質向上のために購入。
「ひとりメタル」制作時に、一番苦労したのがベースの音でした。
もともと安物のベースしか持ってないのですが、なんとかそれなりの音を出そうと試行錯誤。
DR-880にベースマルチもついてるのですが、やはりあくまでおまけ機能。
プリセットもなんかパンチの無い音だし、ギターの音に埋もれがちになってしまってました。
ライン録音してMTRでエフェクトやEQ編集してもなんかいまいち。
予算があれば本当はLine6製のBass PODxtやVariax Bassが欲しかったのですが、いろいろ調べた結果価格的にも機能的にもBEHRINGER BASS V-AMPが候補に。
で、実際使ってみたらやはりモデリング専用マシン。
ギターの音に埋もれない存在感のある音が！
機材一つでここまで変わるんだなー、と感心しました。
プリセットも実用的なものが多く、購入したその日にプリセットだけでかなり遊べました。
バンドのデモ音源もこれで録音したところ、メンバーにも好評。
唯一の欠点が、説明書や操作方法が今ひとつ分かりにくいこと。
PODみたいにもう少し直感的に操作できれば良いのに、と思いました。
こればかりは慣れかもしれませんが。
